Simonin SAS designs and manufactures glued laminated timber structures and produces high-end wood components for construction, both in France and internationally.

We are part of the ATELIERS DE France group, a player in heritage restoration and high-end projects (≈ 50 subsidiaries, 12 countries).

Your tasks

  • Design and dimension timber (and mixed timber/steel) structures for buildings and footbridges: load calculations, modeling, verification and optimization.
  • Communicate with the various stakeholders (project manager, designers, clients, inspection offices) and ensure the technical choices are made.
  • Write up supporting calculation notes, assist with development (plans, assemblies) and contribute to the capitalization of technical solutions.

Your profile

Knowledge

  • Solid foundation in mathematics, strength of materials and structural calculations (wood and steel).
  • Good knowledge of wood products, their properties and assembly methods.
  • Mastery of construction standards and Eurocodes.
  • Proficiency with office software (technical English appreciated).

Expertise

  • Modeling and verifying structures using calculation software (mainly Acord Bat).
  • Design wood/steel structures in detail and carry out regulatory checks.
  • Write clear and structured calculation notes.
  • Knowledge of Cadwork is a plus.

Interpersonal skills

  • Enjoys teamwork and communicates simply on technical subjects.
  • Analytical mind, sense of priorities and responsibilities.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree / Engineering degree (structure, civil engineering, timber construction or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a design office (framework/structures). Motivated candidates with limited experience will be considered.

Terms

  • Permanent contract – full-time – fixed hours.
  • Position based in Montlebon (25).
